Prof. Faith Ben-Daniels Convenes ICEH 2026
Prof. Faith Ben-Daniels, PhD, served as Convenor of the maiden International Conference on Education and Humanities (ICEH 2026), hosted by the Faculty of Education and Communication Sciences at the University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (USTED).
The three-day conference, held from 27 to 29 May 2026 in Kumasi, Ghana, brought together more than 300 participants and approximately 150 research presentations from scholars, educators, policymakers, industry professionals, researchers and students.
Conference Theme
The conference was organised under the theme Building Sustainable Futures: The Place of Education, Humanities and TVET.
As Convenor, Prof. Ben-Daniels helped position ICEH 2026 as a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue across education, humanities, Technical and Vocational Education and Training, entrepreneurship, technology and sustainable development.
Academic and Institutional Significance
ICEH 2026 encouraged participants to rethink the relationship between education, the humanities and technical training. The conference emphasised that these fields must work together to prepare societies for emerging social, economic and technological challenges.
Prof. Ben-Daniels highlighted the role of the Faculty of Education and Communication Sciences in connecting disciplines and supporting human development through pedagogy, communication, research and practical skills.
Key Contributions
The conference featured keynote presentations from Mr. Anis Haffar, Founder of Gifted and Talented Education, and Mr. Kofi Asare, Executive Director of Africa Education Watch.
The Guest of Honour, Ap. Dr. Nana Adu Gyamfi, Kumanin Barima Kessie I, also addressed participants on the contribution of traditional authorities to education and sustainable development.
Looking Ahead
The maiden ICEH established a foundation for an annual international conference for stakeholders in education, the humanities, social sciences, TVET, entrepreneurship and related fields.
Prof. Ben-Daniels expressed the Faculty’s commitment to expanding the conference and attracting a wider community of scholars and practitioners in future editions.
